Today's post from A-Z Blogging Challenge is Q. My theme, Flamenco
Q is For Quest
A Quest is seeking, as in a journey to find something. I've been on a Quest all of my adult life to seek knowledge and dance ability of Flamenco. This gives me purpose and direction without ever wavering. People are often pitifully filled with the "poor me syndrome." If these people would zero in on a subject, a hobby, anything of their interest and pursue it with gusto, there would be no time for "poor me."Your quest would magically transport you to wider vistas where you have never ventured, where happiness reigns supreme.
You'll not find me in the Who's Who of Flamenco. My Quest wasn't for fame but it was to extend my abilities to the limit and receive the ultimate fulfillment. My Flamenco journey isn't finished. I'm still seeking, just as I'm still amazed at all the benefits this adds to my daily life.
Below is a video of a five year old girl dancing Flamenco. You know what her quest is.
Look at her GO. And the ATTITUDE. What a ball of fire. There's one kid who will sleep tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe mind boggles. What will this five year old be like in ten years time. Such talent, such determination. I'm new to your blog and pleased to meet you, you sound like someone with equal determination.
ReplyDeletesuch passion and fire. i hope she keeps it her entire life.
ReplyDeleteIt's another world entirely when one finds a passion. Finding it early can help young people navigate through life. My earliest passion was the written word. It stayed with me, but didn't find a real outlet until a few years ago. It makes all the difference. This little girl has fire in her. I hope it never diminishes.
ReplyDeleteYour passion, quest, for flamenco still serves you well. And that's pretty cool.
I love her little shoes (of course, being a shoe nut...).
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how toddlers learn so quickly and so well? Says a lot about why adults should set a good example, huh?
Still loving these A-Z's!
xoxoxo, cd
I LOVE the attitude!
ReplyDeleteAs for the passion, it's not about fame and fortune, it's about personal fulfillment.
Absolutely incredible, even down to her facial expressions!
ReplyDeleteMy baby john : Her attitude is the inner glow that shows :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth : For one thing, she'll know Flamenco. :)
texwisgirl : Bet she will if she's encouraged.
Teresa : You are certainly an example of a person with a passion in life and it shows in your post with the arts and books and mind inquiries.
Clare : So you love shoes...Are you a Pisces?
Bish : So well said, what can I add.
Laura : Isn't that the greatest? That haughty arrogant look that is so typical Flamenco.
I love your comments on this little girl.

Thanks for stopping by! Good luck on your quest. The little girl was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember if you have ever posted videos or photos of men dancing flamenco. I would love to see some, if possible. Or is flamenco primarily a female dance?
ReplyDeleteYes, passion is what keeps us going!
Gigi : It's coming.... on the "U" letter. I use more vids of women because people like the costumes along with the dance. The men do the fantastic footwork.
ReplyDeleteDafeenah : Thank you for coming by. I'll see more of you on your blog.

That's a fantastic Q word -- and another great video!
ReplyDeletePassion it is what makes for a life! A life truly lived.
ReplyDeleteFlamenco is a beautiful dance full of passion, energy and billowing dresses. I was lucky in high school to take a trip to Madrid, Spain. Our last night the group ate delicious paella and watch flamenco dancers. Amazing! Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you for another wonderful flamenco "fix" to start my day. Your passion is obvious, but I never thought I would see such passion of the face (and feet) of a 5 year old child. I cannot even imagine how beautiful her face & her dancing will be in 10 or 15 years!
ReplyDeleteWow! When I was 5 years I was rolling around in green wheat fields making rooms....what I love seeing at parties and festivals is the little kids who get up right away and start dancing to the music they're hearing.
ReplyDeleteGreat video! It's amazing to see someone so young with so much talent! I think it is important to have a quest. You're totally right about falling into the poor me without one. Nice choice for Q!
ReplyDeleteSuch passion and natural talent from one so young - she reminds me of my great niece (6yrs) in Texas who dances flamenco.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Wow, this is great! What a talent this little girl has. I could watch her all day... and a fun dance! I'm with you on the 'poor me' syndrome. There is so much to do in life, how can anyone not be excited about something?! So good to meet you and be following your blog.
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness - she's a baby!! Look at her go!! What a talent, bless her amazing heart!!!
ReplyDeleteMay your fantastic flamenco quest continue to enthrall and surprise and fulfill you, gorgoeus Manzanita!! Take care

Manzi: Please believe me when I say that I have the ability to recognize focus when I see it. I have studied the concept my entire life. I have rarely seen such focus, except in the greatest martial arts masters. I am taken back, and my admiration for you has grown. I am humbled.
ReplyDeleteDefeenah : Thanks for coming by and leaving a warm comment.
ReplyDeleteTalli : Thank you for the kind words.
Ann : You are right. a passion is life itself.
ReplyDeleteLaura : How inspirational for your life to make a trip to Spain when in high school. Trips like that help put focus on your life when young.
Fishducky : Your devotion to flamenco helps to inspire me. Thank you
Su-sieee : Isn't that adorable when little kids dance and are totally unaware of who watches. Too bad people lose that when they grow up.
Amy : Your words speak of passion. I think you are also following yours.

Anna : You have a 6 year old niece who dances Flamenco? That's amazing. It's such a difficult dance to learn but some kids have no fear of failure and they are the ones who succeed.
ReplyDeleteBobbi : Thank you for visiting and the sweet comment. I hope you Gracie is OK.
Kitty : And the has the exact Flamenco haughtiness. Hard to get that "face."
JJ : Yes, isn't it unusual for such a little girl to duplicate that turn of the head and the Flamenco look. It takes adults years to get that. Thanks for the sincere comment.

I absolutely loved this post. I agree that I have never seen such passion and dedication in the face of a small child. And how she danced!--Inger
ReplyDeleteMy quest has been lost and rediscovered over and over. I seek fitness.
ReplyDeleteI've really lost sight of my quest. I don't know what I'm after any more. You've got me thinking I need to get a target in my life again.
ReplyDeleteThis lovely child is amazing...you can see the passion in her face...she loves dancing. Glad you do too...what fun.
ReplyDeleteHey! Words to live by ... thanx for the reminder!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Easter!!
Wow! That little girl can dance.
ReplyDeleteI like how you mention you never needed to be famous with this. Just that you are on a Quest to learn all you can about it.
