Gary's Blog Fest
It's Gary's Day..... What does that mean?
It's Blogfest Party
Time
Gary at Klahanie hates blogfests
so this blogfest is in honor of our dear hating blogfests blogging buddy
This blogfest calls for us to list 3 blogfests we would never join.
My 3 are
1. Mermaids or Mermen I have known and loved. Haven't we all been in love with a fish or two?
2. Sausages of the Balkan Countries. Now here's one for the books with plenty of garlic.
3. Carnival people I would like to invite to lunch. I love carnival people. I can't imagine a more fun lunch but I wouldn't have lunch with them for their stories would make me want to join the carnival and who would water my plants.
Gary, we love you. Enjoy your anti-blogfest Gary Fest. You are the best
This blogfest is hosted by
Alex J Cavanaugh
Mark Koopmans
Robyn Engel
Morgan Shamy
Visit Gary, the hosts...... visit everyone. Happy anti-blogfest
Hi Manzanita .. once in a while I'd love a balkan sausage - perhaps a Spanish chorizo .. but I agree a whole blogfest of them would be way too much ...
ReplyDeleteCan understand the carnival one too .. well the fish I wouldn't contemplate ..
Cheers to you .. Hilary
Hilary
DeleteYeah, perhaps a sausage one once in a while. Enjoy your holiday.
Of course I'll have to go wish him a happy anti-blogfest day, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteRosey
DeleteYes, drop in on the blogfest hater. Ha
Great anti-blogfests! Made me smile. Especially the sausage one. :D
ReplyDeleteHere are mine!
Liesel
DeleteThanks for the comment. See ya at yours.
As a kid growing up on the ocean I wanted to be a mermaid. My best friend and I had a whole imaginary world filled with merpeople. Sand was our food, it tasted like ice cream.
ReplyDeleteBish
ReplyDeleteDid you really eat the sand? I love the idea of merpeople.
Good "bad" choices! Thanks for helping us honor Gary today. I'm happy to also be hosting - Gary is a great friend to so many of us.
ReplyDeleteTina @ Life is Good
Tina
DeleteThanks for the comment. Forgive me.... I think you are one of the hosts and I didn't mention you. I spaced out and had forgotten about this and it was a scramble this morning. But a usual Monday.LOL
"Haven't we all been in love with a fish or two?" <-----LOL!
ReplyDeleteManzanita, I don't know how we haven't connected before. But it's so nice to meet you under these funny circumstances. You have a great blog and I'll look forward to your posts!
Morgan
DeleteWe prob haven't connected because I am not an aspiring writer. Thanks for stopping and it's my pleasure to meet you.
Good ones! The carnival one might be kinda fun... especially if we could invite a group of folks from the side show. That would make for one interesting meal!
ReplyDeleteSusan
DeleteI was thinking the same thing. Fun bloghop huh? I'm going to try to make all the posts that entered but i have flamenco class today too. See ya later, sweetie.
Sausages, fish, bearded women too
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to go dirty at your zoo?
You can't fool the cat
Did I win a stuffed rat?
Pat
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the mind
You find what you find
You tossed the ring now have a fling
The dead rat comes complete with string
You'd yank it back?
DeleteGeez the cat will have to go on the attack
Pat
DeleteTo yank the rat would be a tease
If cat enjoys, that just will please
Anything to do with carnies is a really bad idea. You could be kidnapped and forced to join the circus.
ReplyDeleteStephen Hahaha
DeleteThen I may have to train lions or do ballet on the back of a horse and then who would water my plants?
Thanks for stopping and the fun comment.
I love salmon. Well, to eat. Not quite the same thing...
ReplyDeleteAlex
DeleteWell not really but they both are good swimmers. Ha
i am a carnie... i am coming to your house for lunch and bringing some of my friends... :)
ReplyDeleteThe Blog-fest that make me want to say "NO"...

Jeremy
DeleteHaven't talked to you for some time. Glad to see you are still around and writing books.
Bringing some of your friends.... Heck, bring em all. Ha.
How fun are these?!? Great choices, all- and thanks so much for connecting with me today! I've followed you and hopw to stay in touch!
ReplyDeleteBeverly
DeleteThanks and I checked in on your followers too. It's nice to meet you.
I would not invite carnival clowns. Clowns are just creepy.
ReplyDeleteL. Diane
DeleteAnd they have red noses. And so does Rudolph. ummmm I wonder.....
Thanks for stopping by.
I especially like your Carnival People blogfest - very twisted and creative of you. I hate to think of what that lunch would include, but cotton candy could possibly save the meal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining this party, Manzanita.
Be well.
xoRobyn
Robyn
DeleteWell I know you would only eat with us if I served chocolate. So chocolate it will be.
Love these Manzanita... I can see you running off and joining the carnival. You are very adventurous!!!
ReplyDeleteRobin
DeleteNot so adventurous these days. My daughter called this morning and wants me to move back to Minneapolis... Another move???? no thanks
Yeah, mermen seem to be missing some of the important parts...
ReplyDeleteYour sausage option cracked me up... and was strangely fitting when I thought about what mermen were lacking.
What?
Hart
DeleteI guess I didn't realize what I had written .... Ha ... made myself chuckle too.
thanks for stopping by.
Manzy you should totally run away and join the carnival because those would be some EPIC blog posts :)
ReplyDeleteKeith ... you are so right. And I could send all my bloggie friend stuffed animals and little lamps with glitter. You know, those things you get when you toss rings. Hahaha
DeleteNothing wrong with carny folk...as long as they're buying the lunch :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the Balkan sausage...hmmm....don't know about that one.....
Great entries...who says you're not a writer?? :D
Mark
DeleteNothing wrong at all. I thought about that. One has to be so politically correct. I meant the gypsy life but that would suit me too as I am a gypsy.
Now those don't seem so bad. I'm sure you'll get some takers with each of those blog hops. :)
ReplyDeleteNancy
DeleteI couldn't bring myself to do the toilet, vomit ones. Many of them are very clever and funny. Great imagination.
I could easily be talked into running away with the carnival. I loved my stint as a clown in the Sailor Circus.
ReplyDeletePatti
DeleteYou were a clown, for real? I don't remember. Have you done posts on this?
I forgot about this entirely. Do you think Gary would forgive me, let me post it on Wednesday??
ReplyDeleteSusan
DeleteI forgot too and I did a post yesterday. I don't post every day. Then this morning I saw someones and said.... you know what I said. I forgot. So I didn't even really think about the 3 blogfests. That is why they are so dorky. But I did it and I had Flamenco class today. Had to get ready for that too. I'm ready for bed at 6:30. LOL
Could get a lion at the table and have you for dinner
ReplyDeleteHoly Ghost
DeleteHe would not like me. I'm too old and brittle. He's just spit me out. :)
I haven't done a Gary Blog post... He is such a great guy... very kind hearted. Hopefully he will forgive me.
ReplyDeleteHow did your dance class go? Love you~!
Terry
DeleteHe is really a kind and funny person. Everybody likes him a lot and he gets so many comments and he writes meaningful replies and remembers little things about each person. I'm sure he will forgive you.
I just finished class and I'm ready for bed at 6:30. Didn't get any yard work done. Tomorrow..... I went on FB for the 1st time in months. Saw some great pictures of you. Talk to you soon. Love you
Love the sausages one. haha
ReplyDeleteTrisha
DeleteThanks and nice of you to drop by with a comment.
No#1... something fishy...
ReplyDeleteNo#2... definitely obscure...
No#3... walking a tightrope with this one...
A triple no-no to your batch of blogfest boo boos!

Michelle
DeleteHope you enjoyed the anti-blogfest. It was a fun morning. Thanks for stopping by.
Like L Diane Wolfe I would not invite carnival clowns. A small car would pull up and you'd expect one or two to ring the doorbell, then stand there stunned as clown after clown after clown after clown after clown gets out of the tiny two door toy car.
ReplyDeleteApart from that, carnival people for lunch sounds quite interesting. I wouldn't be interested in reading about mermaids or Balkan sausages.
River
DeleteHahahaha
I can tell, you've seen that clown act in a circus before. That is hilarious. I've always kind of liked carnival. At one point in my young life, for a very brief time, I thought it would be fun to travel with a carnival. But I got over that in a big hurry when I realized I'd have to sleep in a tent and use an outhouse. LOL
Dear Manzanita, and here am I planning a blogfest in November to announce a book being published--the first in a cat fantasy series! Peace.
ReplyDeleteDee
DeleteI'm wondering is that the book already out or do you have a new one??? You are one writing gal. Good work.
Dear Manzanita, it's a new book, never before published! I do so love to write. Peace.
DeleteHi Manzanita,
ReplyDeleteI bet you've been eagerly anticipating a comment from me. Yay n'stuff! :)
Three superb non-choices. The first one makes me think of coral sex. The second one makes me think of warding off Vampires with garlic sausage. Take this garlic sausage, Mr. Vampire dude. The third one seems like a fun, fair time. Lunch with the bearded lady.
And nope, no way would I ever join such choices or non-choices.
Thanks for the irony, my dear friend.
Gary :)
Gary
DeleteYou are one funny punster... Coral sex. I wonder what else mermaids are capable of. Geez, that makes me laugh. I do actually like good sausage once in a while. I guess Susan makes a great kielbasa (heck, I don't know how to spell it). I hope you enjoyed your day.
See ya on the boardwalk.
I kinda like the carnies too - that blogfest ingtrigues me!
ReplyDeleteHopping by from the anti-blogfest ~

DeleteThank you for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. It was a fun blogfest.
Oh yes to #3! Perfect.
ReplyDeletecleemckenziebooks
DeleteThank you. It's my pleasure to meet you on this fun blogfest.
Manzanita, I LOVE the poem you shared on my blog! Wonderful. I like to read it and reread it.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Julia
DeleteOh thank you. You are toooo kind. I love to rhyme and do silly things. I can't begin to write beautiful and meaningful poetry like you do.
It would be fun to spend an afternoon with some seasoned carnie folk! I'd like to see a bearded lady arm wrestle with a merman!
ReplyDeleteJulie
Julie
ReplyDeleteThat would be a strong-arm fight to the finish. Or they would see who could win the hair-growing contest.
Fun blogfest.
Carnival people!!!! Wouldn't that be so interesting?!!!! Sorry I'm late!
ReplyDeleteThe words crafter
DeleteI think it would. Happy to meet you. Never late at all. LOL
It was our high school circus which was quite professional as I was living in Sarasota at the time. Lots of performer's kids went there since it was the winter home for Ringling. It is still active today. They put on one heck of a show, big top and all.
ReplyDeleteI posted about it back in 2009 when I had very few followers.

DeleteOK, happy to read about it. Yeah, those old posts are often fun to re-rum.
Oops, that link doesn't work. Try this one.

DeleteI couldn't get this to work but I'll play around with it when I have more time. I have to get out and weed whack because it's supposed to get really hot today.
Thanks and I'll try later.
Love those!! A carnival lunch might be fun but not in my house!
