Still no mountain hike

Ho Hum.... The mountain is still posted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Middle of the day, I watched an old movie, "The Cowboy Way" with Woody Harrelson and Keifer Sutherland, because I couldn't tear myself away. I would never call Woody Harrelson good-looking but man, does he have sex appeal! This movie was made in 1994 but I was laughing and cheering throughout.  I had seen it years ago but forgot about it.  Woody and Keifer play the roles of cowboys  and they looked plenty authentic to me. I was still laughing out loud when I turned off the TV and went outside.
  1. Howdy Ma'am,
    First of all, y'all, it says that there top "video is private" as in keep out. No lion.
    If that cowboy took of his clothes, he'd be a nude dude.
    Yee haa, y'all!
    Gary :)
      Sorry.... my fault. The private is always checked and I have to uncheck it. I forgot to.
      He does in the movie.......Covers himself with a hat as in the Full Monte.
  2. The first movie says private. :(
    I've never seen Woody Harrelson do a bad job acting. I think he's awesome.
      He's even a better actor as he gets older but in the beginning he was one young sexy dude.
      Sorry about the 4 sec. video. It is just a little clip I took of the posting and I forgot to uncheck the private setting. Sorry. I changed it now. thanks for telling me.
  3. Dear Manzanita, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment on my posting today. I'm sorry I didn't link your name to the posting you did that got me started with a series on social-justice. I just found that posting on your blog listing. It was for Sunday, January 8, 2012. I read it at the time and knew where I needed to go next with my blog. Thank you belatedly. I hope all is well and that the summer and its heat is treating you well. I'm wondering how you are settling into your new home. Peace.
      I'm just happy to be able to remind you of a post series. You did an interesting series. I do remember it. I still have much to do. the yard is huge and I've been working on the gardens most of the summer. I'll leave the inside for the fall. Good to see you back.
    Hot town, summer in the city
    back of my neck getting dirty and gritty.
    That old song reminds me of now.
      I always thought it was "burnt and pretty."
      Which NEVER made sense to me!
      Thanks.
      By the way, I also thought the Bee Gees' "More Than a Woman" was "Bald Headed Woman."
      That never made sense, either.
      I really should get my hearing checked.
      ummm...burnt and pretty gives a whole new meaning to that song.
      Bald headed woman is just plain funny. LOL
      So many people think they are hearing some other words to songs. It's the singer who slurs or doesn't enunciate. I've read posts written by bloggers on this very thing. When one of my sons was little he kept singing about the "sour face" song. Then I found out it was the Beetles singing, "When I saw her face."
      This "summer in the city" has dominated my brain ever since Robin mentioned that song for me in her Thursday vids. Then Gary picked up on it and made some wise comments and the song was so fitting for right now and it brought back memories of my life when the song was first popular. That's where your burnt and pretty took on popularity with us again. Then Nas said hot vids and the song returned to me. I say HOT DAMN
      It's not your hearing. Everyone does it.
    Cody and I used to go up on the mountain every day but now the cougars have spoiled it. They've always been up there but must be closer now. Even when they say it's safe, I'll still be thinking I'll meet one on the trail.
    That was a funny movie. It's often good to sit down and have a good laugh.
      It just plain made me laugh. I work so hard in the yard lately that I need to watch mindless, funny movies. Check it out.
      It was just a funny movie to me. I need to watch more funny movies but so many of them are just plain boring. I think Woody was responsible for making this one funny but of course funny guys need a good straight man too.
  10. Yes, I think I'd have to be staying indoors if there were mountain lions roaming around...but it's a cool reason to be staying indoors, nonetheless :)
    Was never a big fan of Kiefer Sutherland (never liked his name), but Woody has done some cool stuff.
      I've never been a fan of Keifer Sutherland either BUT I was absolutely gaga over his father, Donald Sutherland in his hey-day. Now I can't understand why that was but I was in love with him.
  11. Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh My!!
    I have watched Woody and Keifer for many years.. I wouldn't call either one of them good looking but you are right... there is just something about them that make us want to watch.
      What other movies did they make together that I'm missing out on? I need to watch funny movies and laugh more. The small stones I'm digging up are going to my brain. I'm obsessed. Although I did finish one small garden space by the house where I want to stick in some tulip bulbs as soon as weather is right. I've got mums and asters for fall and the tulips for spring.... also peonies... but I need things for mid summer. Help me. We had a big hail that knocked down my tall plants, like hollyhocks and sunflowers, astilbe, lupine, foxglove,campanula, and delphinium. I told my son and I think he felt worse than I did. He's the only one who inherited my green thumb. He's busy trying to get his seeded non-mowing-grass all filled in. Do you see how I switched from movies to gardening. You can see where my interest really lies. Ha. Take care. Talk to you soon.
    1. I think the town already voted and the one they chose was the Penwasser guy from Pa. LOL They have always been around but never so close to town. I'd hate to take Cody up there as she would probably chase one. She's a really fast cow dog but boy, those cougars can run.
  13. A big cat came by here the other day, but it was only a bobcat. He was pretty big though. Better stay away form the mountains until that lion decides to move on.
    I like Woody too, and talking about sex appeal, I think you would get a kick out of what I just posted today. What's age got to do with it? Or something like that.....
      But the bobcats aren't something to mess with either. I've run into them in Florida at the rest stops because they are usually located way out in the boonies.
      I haven't made it to your place yet. Will be over.
  14. Always see Kiefer as Jack Bauer at my sea
    But that was a funny movie
    Even had a ghost buster wanting to be a cowboy
    The horse riding brought him joy
    I wonder if the mountain lion can rhyme
    Cody ran away not thinking it was sublime
      Jack's your favorite, I'm in shame
      Maybe I thought K could never come close
      To his father who I always loved the very most
      The best line when one cop said, "They stole our horses
      The other said, "Don't worry. They're good with horses.
      If mountain lion met Orlin, there would be a fight
      For who's the best rhymer, it would be a sight
      Right. Movie breaks.... especially the ones that make one laugh... make the best breaks. I've always got stones to pick up and sod to break up. Is that called a "sod buster?"
      Hope your birthday was special and so is each day until you can add one more candle to the cake and then the joy begins again.
      I've been reading of Norman Cousins and how he cured his own illness with laughter and vit.C. I'm going to look up more funny movies so I can laugh more. I have no husband to make me laugh. He used to make me laugh every day.
      I've been enjoying the walks around the neighborhoods of the mansions of the first miners of the gold rush. The gardens are breathtaking this time of year. Only negative prob is Cody has to be on a leash in town.
  19. Well, well. Kittens on the mountain, and cowboys on the dance floor. But then, I think you like cats, and kept a bunch in the barn. When you had a barn. And I think you could handle any cowboy on the dance floor.
      Perhaps different artists use different lyrics. I finally had to look up the lyrics by lov'n Spoonful and it was dirty and gritty. But who knows..... singers slur their words a lot.
  22. Hi Manzanita .. sounds an enjoyable movie - especially as you were hooked to the end .. that mountain lion is having a few field weeks isn't he .. they!
    Well glad you're paying attention to the sign .. cheers Hilary
    I ran into a friend yesterday at the Farmer's Market who said they had just taken the sign down... Yay.
    I need more movies that make me laugh. I just figured out that when one lives alone, they don't laugh as much as when they are with someone. So more funny movies.
