Yipes, today is Dec. 1, my husbands birthday. He was born
103 years ago in Montreal, Canada. The photo above is
of a bronze statue of him at the new ball field in Mpls. It
is such a life-like statue, that for me, it's a little creepy.
Calvin's life was baseball so it is fitting that he now
greets all the Twins fans at the door.
Calvin's life was one of enchantment that he shared
with me for over 25 years. Dec 1....smack-dab in the
middle of Sagittarius astrology and one so lucky to be
born on this date is a laugh and a love a day.
So to Calvin and all you lucky Sadges to be born on this
day, I give you the high-five and say, "Celebrate like only
a Sagittarius knows how."

My brother's birthday is today. December 1. He is VERY Sag. Likes to laugh and love... sounds a lot like your husband, minus the avid interest in baseball.

DeleteOh how sweet for your family to be together on your brother's birthday and celebrating an early Christmas, too. Another thing the Sadge loves is travel. I'm the home body but when he was alive, I kept a packed bag because I never knew when the wanderlust would overtake him. LOL

DeleteIt's been almost 14 years since Calvin died and memories do fad. Many years his birthday goes by and I never notice. But somehow, I woke up this morning, went to the computer and reallized it was Dec l. That did bring on a rush of memories, so I wrote the post.

DeleteThank you. Yes, it really is a wonderful tribute to his years of devotion to the sport but nevertheless, it gives me a lonely feeling. All the fans can go home but he still stands there in the rain or cold. It's like a double-edged sword for me.
My dad was a Sagittarius. They say he was the nicest man you could meet. ;)

DeleteThat's how I feel about most Sagittarius too. My youngest son is a Sadge and he too is the jovial sort and has more friends then I could accumulate in a lifetime.

You once mentioned that your hubby used to own a baseball team, but I didn't realize it was the Twins. I can see how you'd have a mixed bag reaction to seeing that statue of him standing at the new stadium, though. In a way, it's a great tribute. On the other hand, YOU knew him as a flesh-and-blood man, but the other people looking at it will see it as just another statue. (If you know what I mean.)

He loves his social time and is constantly hosting parties but now that he is older, he also takes his work very seriously. I'll look on FB to see when yours is.
