Repeat it Often Enough

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,
people will eventually come to believe it.
quote attributed to Joseph Goebbels and often, Hitler

This day, in 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.  Like the
whole world, I was numb with shock.  My eyes were constantly focused on
the little TV that sat in the kitchen of my home in Minneapolis. Two days after
the killing, we witnessed live, another killing, when Jack Ruby shot Lee H.
Oswald, the suspected Kennedy killer, the man who shouted out when
apprehended, "I'm a patsy."

Today, all information pertaining to Kennedy's killing will say he was shot
by a lone gun man, Lee Harvey Oswald.  Who has the time to dispute that
or who even cares any more. I care and for 51 years Kennedy's assassination
has been my obsession. So many books written ........ sooo many theories but
the Warren Commission is still touted to be the final word. Amen. What
a joke that is, but again, if the government said it, it must be true.

The Kennedy killing quest has taken me down
hundreds of paths that branch out in every
direction and produced names of people, famous
and obscure, who were never allow a voice or
were mysteriously eliminated.

But repeat it often enough and it will become history.

Boy, you lived through some history too. That was such an emotional time for the world. From all my reading throughout the years, I definitly have my belief on the evil ones but so does everyone one else have theirs too. So I don't bother to elaborate on mine. LOL

  3. Yep, that is the way. If put in books by so called respected people, it has to be true. History is what those who write it want it to be. You get enough sheep to believe it and then you are all set.

I knew you'd understand. You are one of the few people who "get it!"

  5. I'm with you on this one for sure.

We will never know the truth, but in the early going most witnesses pointed to the grassy knoll; that and the magic bullet makes me think there was another assassin and LHO was a shooter, and a stooge.

Lots of people didn't want the real story to come out and so it was buried... the story and lots of other people.

No, we may never know the complete truth, as it's a long and twisted cover-up but now, some of those who were in on the plot and reaching the age of death-bed confessions, a little more truthful info comes trickling out.

I happened to mention to my daughter today that it is 51 years since Kenney was assassinated. (She doesn't read my blog and didn't know it was a Kennedy anniversary). She said she remembered it clearly (she was 4)..... said she remembered all of us sitting around the little TV in the kitchen and she said I was crying, although I don't exactly recall that. She said we all crowded in the kitchen because we had to eat and I had to cook and we didn't want to miss anything.

I hope some day all the lies and cover-ups can be brought to light. More than that, it would be a miracle to actually see an honest politician voted into office.

One theory I heard was that Ruby's night club was a front for drugs. He did have terminal cancer so he agreed to be the hit man for LHO and he would come out of it a somewhat of a

  10. I agree... The people who work in Washington DC (for our Government) just lie and lie and lie to the American people. There are SO many cover-ups --just like the one you talk about today. I don't trust any of them... Kinda sad to say that about our Govt... (But--they think that we, the people, are STUPID... And sometimes, we may be --since so many people just don't pay any attention to what is going on in Govt.)

So many people can't believe the gov't. would lie to us. They are in a Pollyanna world where they actually believe all elected politicians are " Mr. Smith goes to Washington."
Like you say, most of the people don't pay attention to what is going on BUT the media is to blame for much of it too. The press feeds us with just what the govt. wants us to hear.

  11. A tragic day. And whoever pulled the trigger a man died, horribly, before his wife and millions, like you, watching on the TV.

And sadly, we may never know 'who.'

Yes, there were cover-up's on top of cover-up's and the truth is buried in it somewhere.

I think a lot of us live on an island unto ourselves and no longer believe government and that also includes the media, for me. Good to hear from you again.

  13. Oswald a lone gunman?
Like many, many, many things associated with our government, this one does not pass the smell test.
    Well, maybe it does.
    Because it smells.

I'm in agreement with you all the way. This Kennedy one is like an ant-hill.....it looks cut and dried and pieceful on the outside but kick it a little and all the slimmy little ants flee to take cover.

  14. This wasn't something we heard a lot of downunder, possibly more than I remember, but I didn't take notice. We're so far away down here and I was more interested in climbing trees then, than in anything on the news. Now, it is just one more thing so far in the past.

I can understand that because you were far removed from politics as a child and as you said on the other side of the world. My daughter who was only 4 at the time said today how she remembers how we were all crying for days and we were glued to the TV. Of course she didn't know what was going on but just recalled how it affected the adults.

  15. My old neighbor was born into the world on this very day. I can't imagine what a juxtoposition of emotions that must have been. The world must have felt so upside down. I feel like from what I've heard that before this people must have been much more niave. From the pictures a friend showed me from serving in Iraq, I know for a fact that the government lies. He also told me the really interesting photos were somehow 'lost'.

Lies are told and the press is responsible for spreading them. People react to what they hear on the news. Look at the Orson Wells halloween radio show of somewhere back in the '30's. All panic broke loose at what was just a halloween prank. I believe the pictures of what you saw were the truth but we are never fed the truth.

It's sad that so many lies are fed to us and those lies become history. In truth, what can we believe? I guess we should all just tend our gardens. LOL

  17. And those telling the lie repeat it so often they also believe it wholeheartedly. That's what makes their lies so convincing.

You are soooo right. If more than 2 people start believing it, it's gotta be true.
Thanks for visiting. I stopped at your delightful blog and I'll be back.

  19. It's hard to believe it's been so many years since JFK was assassinated. The "Camelot years" fine-tuned my already idealistic world view, and his (and Bobby's) deaths felt as personal to me as a death in the family. I'm one of those Pollyanna people, but as much as I hate to admit it, our government has a long history of keeping "we the people" in the dark by feeding us its version of reality. Kinda like raising mushrooms. Keep 'em in the dark, and feed 'em lots of manure.

  20. We Canadians also tuned into the news. I was in my last year of high school. It was terrible! I've listened to stories woven out of thin air, by people in no position to know what they were describing. I just shake my head.

Personally, I think LHO was a Martian, killed by another Martian to keep America from knowing our planet is really ruled from Mars.

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

That must mean we have dual citizenship. Mars always sounds so invitingly strong and energetic.

I imagine Kennedy's death had an affect on Canado, being so close.

  21. Greetings human, Manzanita,

Speaking of Canadians, my human, Gary, recalled how they announced the assassination of Kennedy in his elementary school auditorium in Vancouver. The entire school was sent home for the rest of the day.

Very much a where were you moment. The conspiracy theories now have conspiracy theories concocted by conspiring conspiracy theory writers.

I believe in my own conspiratorial mind that we would have had no Vietnam war if he had lived. He was the greatest. Yes he liked the ladies.... but so did Wilson, Rooseveldt, Eisenhower, Clinton and who knows how many others.

Why you youngster. You were just three years older than young John Kennedy. It is interesting how people can recallexactly where they were at the time of a famous event, yet on the TV mystery shows, the suspects never can remember where they were at any time. Ha

I was home of course, but so many kids say they had to wheel in TV's so they could watch it the rest of the day. I can't remember if there was school the next day but we didn't leave the TV for days.... actually until after the funeral.
