Have You Ever Met a Blogger in Person?

Terry, from "My Journey With Candida," is visiting me.
She only had to mention 2 little words (elk hunting) to
entice her husband to pack the pick-up and head for
Montana. While her husband hunts, we are having a
blast doing crazy things, such as hunting for
fossil rocks. I can't drive by a rock pile without Terry
saying, "Stop the truck" and she's out poking around
in a rock pile. We've been to ghost towns, casino
hopping, mountain climbing and Terry saw her first
live cattle drive. What fun having her here and showing
her my part of the world.

Our Halloween costumes. Manzi on the L and Terry in the orange wig

Have you ever visited in person with a blogging buddy?

  1. That sounds fantastic, and it looks like you guys are having so much fun! I've met a couple blogging pals in person, but haven't gotten to spend that much time with them. I trust you'll be having elk on the menu in the near future...?

I didn't touch a piece of meat for 35 years and now once in a while I may eat a thimblefull. Oldies need a little meat protein once in a while.
Lucky for you to meet someone in person too. You feel like you already know each other.

Sorry, somehow I missed your post. When I was younger, I'd hop on a plane in a minute and travel, who knows where. That's all changed. You are one lucky gal, being someone's birthday present. LOL

No, I've never met any blogger in person. Not yet, but I may have the opportunity to meet a blogger friend in the future.

  6. How neat---getting to spend time with a blog friend. Hubby and I have met about 18 or more of our blog friends. Amazing how these friends become LIFETIME friends immediately... So glad you and Terry had a great time together...

That is amazing to meet that many bloggie friends. It's so intriguing to see if their real personality matches what you think you have gathered about them online. :You and your husband have sooooo much fun together. Great to follow.

  7. No. Never met another blogger. One day I hope. It appears you're having much fun!

I gotta say, those black and white outfits would look more fitting methinks on a chain-gang! :))

I take it that you must be vegetarian. I was for 35 years but it's time I ate a little protein once in a while.n

I did meet one, it was just for lunch but it was so comfortable. It was more like a reunion than a meeting for we all ready knew a lot about each other.

Reunions can be a meeting of joy. I love reunions, kind like our class reunions where everyone diets like crazy before they go.
"Seeing my area through another's eyes is a very honest way to put it. I keep thinking, this would be boring, etc. but she seems to find delight in a lot of things that I always take for granted.

  14. I've had the pleasure of meeting two for just a short time. One was in San Antonio taking a course. She drove down and I took her out to eat and past the ranch. Only three hours, but it was nice. Another was a man who put some of my poems in his book that he wrote about a dry land turtle I had in my blog. It was only for about an hour because he and his wife had their two grown sons with them and had so much to see here around San Antonio. I could have met another but I wasn't able to entertain for three days with my health and age. Would have liked to.

You really pick the romantic spot to meet your bloggie buds.

It sounds like San Antonio is a hot spot for meeting bloggers and perhaps sight seeing. I've never been there, precisely and I've only bee to Texas once. I recall it was terribly windy and my car was covered with tumbleweeds.
Thank you for visiting my blog.

  18. Dear Manzi, it looks like you've had such a great time together! Me not, never met a blogging friend in person yet. Oh ghost town!! Are these really-really exactly those buildings from the Wild Wild West?? Cool! I've watched a movie recently, 'Back to the future', and there were some wild west scenes... now it's even more exciting to see such houses clicked by you!

I hope you someday soon meet up with a blogging buddy. It feels like you already know the person.
We have a lot of ghost towns here in the West. The towns sprung up when a new mineral strike was discovered (mostly gold) and when the vein ran dry, everyone left the town and the buildings stood there like ghosts. Many have been preserved as historical sites but even at that, the buildings need some repair and attention or they would just fall down. That is what is happening to most of them and it's a shame to see them decay.
Helena, the city I live in has a colorful gold mining history. This town survived and is the capital of Montana but none of the original buildings have been saved. The original street names are still the same and I love to walk along those streets and imagine what it once looked like
I saw the "Back to the future" movies. They were a trip. ha

If I were younger and the world was all peaceful, I'd hop on a plane and go anywhere but alas, all things have changed. I would love to meet you and visit your country. I guess we'll have to settle for this. Some days I just love everything and everybody and this happens to be one of them.

After meeting a blogger in person, I imagine your future correspondance takes on a new meaning. Terry and I had been talking on the phone for a couple of years so we already had a more personal relationship and it just felt natural when we finally saw each other face to face.

  21. Dear Manzanita, I have visited with a blogger, one much, much younger than I and we found that we had the same sense of humor and that we both enjoyed life and living! Like you and Terry, we talk on the phone frequently and share our lives. Meeting her has been one of the great gifts of my late 70s. Peace.

That young blogger must be in high school because you are only a very "young seventy." LOL oops, I just read you said late 70's. I didn't know you are that old.....but you are still young seventy compared to me.

The above is all teasing. I am sooo happy that you met this young blogger in person and you expressed the meeting with so much warm emotion. One of the great gifts..........that has a very special meaning to you. We meet so many beautiful, warm and funny bloggers . Often I hate all this electronic stuff but then I think of all the amazing people I've met and that is ONLY because we do have this blasted electronics that drives me crazy from time to time. LOL

  24. As Jasmine pointed out we met when I was still living in GA--and horribly pained with migraines. She only had a brief period of time we could meet and I had a doctor appt scheduled, so she went with me. She is just as wonderful in person (actually more wonderful in person) as she is on her blog. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation... never ran out of stuff to yammer on about, which was awesome!

My mom and I have met JJ and Carol multiple times, usually for a meal. The last time we met at his home and went from there. He and Carol are top-notch people and we always have engaging conversation with them. In fact, we are planning on meeting for lunch again in December. I am looking forward to it!!!

You and Terry look as though you are having a blast!!! I hope that the fun goes on and on and on.... :)

We were at a casino on Halloween night and there were many dressed in costume. There was another guy in a prisoner suit just like the one I was wearing. Terry's was a dress, so she was the girl and mine was long pants so I was the guy. The other prisoner guy was a little weird, he kept saying he wanted my cap because my stripes were horizontal and his were vertical. LOL

He sounds like an angry elf. Shame he goes under the cowardly "Anonymous."
Personally, I love women. Without them, I'd have to be gay.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
For instance, if I was a woman I'd be (besides one ugly broad) a lesbian. I just cannot imagine canoodling with someone with five o'clock shadow.

It's a familiar feeling when you blog with someone you've actually met.
I wish those leaves were just beginning their journey to growth in place of a journey to a big long sleep. LOL

Yeah he definitely has a problem but I don't like the loss of feminity sported by most women these days. They kind of create angry elves like this guy. Nobody knows their role anymore.

I can picture you stumbling around in 5 inch skinny heels. You know what we used to call those shoes only I can't say it here. LOL But if you both have 5 o'clock shadow , do you not get the whisker burn?
