Dam Sam ..... You Made My Pants Too Short

Another RIP. That's 3 in a row. In place of "Three Weddings and a Funeral" I could turn it around to "Three Funerals and a Wedding." But I don't know anyone who is getting married or who even wants to. :)

It did make me think. (Thinking's always good). GRATEFUL. That word popped into my mind. I like the meaning of that word..... meaning thankful. But if you take the word apart you get full of grate. Word, GRATE, alone means harsh or scraping sound. I don't get it. Can someone please help me out.

I am GRATEFUL ....... (skip the harsh) for 3 things in my world.

1. Organic Food
2. A Gas Stove
3. A Wood Floor

Silly list? Not when you poke at it a little.

1. Organic food sustains your body and promotes health.

2. Cooking methods include, Wood, electricity, gas (primarily). Gas relates peacefully to the body. Electricity, nah, but a lot of people use it and I use some electrical appliances. Wood is the most peaceful of all because it's natural. But we're not cutting down any more trees unless you count the ones the pine beetles have killed. (Microwave... triple nix)

3. Wood Floor. When you stand you become grounded. You're one with whatever your feet touch. It should be naturat.... so it's either wood or dirt. Rock (tile) is OK but as I get older, it doesn't have a "give" to it but it does have a cool, connection to bare feet.

All three lead to "good health." If you have good health, you have everything. Just ask someone who is chronically ill. Dang ..... being sick must be a bummer.

If anyone is getting married, let me know.

  1. I can't imagine anyone wanting carpet these days, but if the funds aren't there, I think it's probably the least expensive choice for flooring. My last house was mostly tile (wood floors in the loft), and the new house, mostly wood (tile in two of the bathrooms). Carpet made me crazy (crazier than I already am), envisioning the mounds of dirt hiding below its seemingly pristine surface. Oh, and to think the critters . . . ugh!

  2. I am grateful every day for my good health! I concur, without it, you have nothing. This I know for sure.

  3. Counting my blessings for good health...and I am getting all carpet up in the next few weeks, just cannot decided for sure what I want to go with...

I have a new giveaway on my holiday blog, A Baby Changes Everything, with more copies of IN A HEARTBEAT to give away on TUESDAY. Stop by and enter....Have a great week..

  4. kj..... You are so right on ........I haven't had carpet since Truman was in office..... kidding. But it's so full of mites.... always made me sneeze. I use the wood for my walking comfort, but I also need it for Flamenco dancing. ole.

Big...That is for sure. I had a shirt tail relative .... Pillsbury, you know the white doughboy stuff. The gal was much younger than I and about to die. She said she envied me and would give all her $ if I could give her my health. Not that she wanted me to die ..... but she wanted to live. I couldn't give her my health & she did die. So I'm poor & healthy. No... kidding again. I'm healthy & happy with whatever i have.

Thanks for writing, both of you. I sincerely feel love for wonderful people like you. Adios

  5. I like your list of three. They make all sense to me. If I could, I'd have a gas stove and wood floors right now. Organic food, yes indeed. I've been enjoying reading through your archives today. You give me strength and encouragement. Thank you!

    Su-sieee! Mac
This and That. Here and There. Now, Sometimes Then.

  6. Thanks Su-sieee. I enjoy your posts on Hollister, too. Small towns are fun because everyone gets to know every one else. Always a little drama going on too.

  7. I love your 3 gratefuls..I moved into my husbands house when I married him 3 years ago..he lived here with his mother( who has since passed away) and it was like moving into a clash of bachelor pad and grandma's house. I am slowly (because life can really get in the way) removing the carpets; the 50's paneling and dropped ceilings and yes there were even Springsteen and motorcycle posters on the wall it was scary..
And health; that is a big one!

  8. well, just missed me weddint (#3) last October. I think I got it right this time.
good things to be thankful for

and it makes me giddy to get food out of my own garden

  9. Someone's getting married. Someone's gotta be getting married, but it aint me.
Thanks for your reminder of what's really important.

  10. We'll just count Wendy's wedding. You're still in the honeymoon stage. Lucky you.... a wedding and a garden.

Robyn. We'll add a little chocolate (raw cacao) to our list too.

  11. Manzanita, I just read your post "Wind Up Some Ideas About Sex" that you must've taken down for obvious reasons. I'm glad it was still in my RSS feed, and I want you to know that it took guts for you to write it and publish it. Thank you very much for expressing your opinion!
